Haloacetic acids (HAA5)

A group of the 5 haloacetic acids found in drinking water as a byproduct of the disinfection process of water with chlorine. Haloacetic acids have been linked to developing cancer when ingested for prolonged periods of time. If a large quantity is consumed, it can cause damage to liver, kidneys, eyes, nervous system and reproductive system.
