Heptachlor epoxide

An organic compound that is created when heptachlor breaks down when it enters the body. Heptachlor is an insecticide banned in 1988 that can still be found in the soil and groundwater, and its more potent version of heptachlor epoxide has been linked to liver damage, decreased fertility, developmental problems and an increased risk of cancer.
