Toluene

A synthetic chemical mainly used in gasoline blending, but also as a solvent for paints, adhesives and many other products. It can find its way into drinking water supplies principally from discharge from petroleum, solvents and thinners handling and transportation processes, and from motor vehicle exhaust. It has been known to have central nervous system, cardiovascular, reproductive, respiratory, liver, kidneys, skin, and sensory organs effects.
