Carbofuran

A highly toxic insecticide that is used on field fruit, vegetable and forest crops to control pests. The most important source of carbofuran filtration into the water supply is due to the leaching of soil fumigant used mainly on rice and alfalfa crops. Long-term exposure to carbofuran has been linked to problems with blood, nervous systems and reproductive systems, and high dose ingestion have been reported to cause abdominal pain, salivation, dizziness, anxiety and vomiting.
