Glyphosate

The most widely used agricultural chemical in the world. It is a herbicide, known as a primary component in the weed-killer product ‘Roundup’, used on hay/pasture, soybeans, field corn, lawns, forest plantings and greenhouses to control plant growth. Glyphosate can filtrate into groundwater through runoff from herbicide usage in crops and other sources. Although it has been deemed safe for humans in regularly used doses, it has been linked to kidney and liver problems, growth retardation and reproductive difficulties with prolonged exposure.
