Hardness

Water Hardness measures the amount of dissolved magnesium and calcium in your water. The harder the water, the more dissolved minerals. Hard water is the culprit in developing soap scum, that film of residue that is left on your hands if you wash them in hard water. It is also responsible for spots and film on your glasses when removed from the dish washer.

However, that are benefits to hard water as well. The minerals in the water are both necessary ingredients of a healthy human body.
