Trichloroethylene

A synthetic chemical compound most commonly used as a solvent in the automotive and metal industries. It can become a contaminant when discharge from metal degreasing sites and other factories makes its way into drinking water supplies. This chemical has been linked to liver issues, reproductive effects, such as heart malformations in fetuses, as well as an increased risk of cancer, especially in the formation of tumors in kidneys and testicles.
